HIRING OF trainees through NEEM

What is NEEM?

The objective of National Employability Enhancement Mission (NEEM) is to offer on-the-job training to a person pursuing his or her Post Graduation / graduation / diploma in any technical or non-technical stream or has discontinued studies after Class 10 to enhance his/her employability. The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has made certain regulations and All India Council for Technical Education Act, 1987 in this regard.

NEEM – Contract Structure

  • PERI will sign a MoU with the Client for the engagement of NEEM trainees. MoU will specify the mutually agreed amount to be paid as stipend to the trainees and the period of training and administration charges to be paid to PERI
  • PERI shall enroll trainees and deploy them at the premises of the client. A training contract is signed which captures the terms and conditions of the training. NEEM training shall be deemed to have started from the date of joining/enrollment.
  • The Stipend amount is prescribed in line with the benchmark industry rates and in any case will not be lower than the minimum wages prescribed for the particular location and category of job
  • At the end of every month PERI will raise invoice to the Client which will consist of the stipend amount plus administration charges. The administration charges essentially covers the overhead costs for candidate recruitment, onboarding, training, payroll processing, maintaining regulatory compliances and overall coordination
  • On receipt of payment from the Client, the stipend shall be paid to the trainees as a consolidated amount and is not subject to any other deduction.
  • At the end of the training period, the Client will have option to hire the trainee on permanent roll.
  • Candidates shall get a course completion certificate from PERI for having successfully undergone the training which can enable them to improve their chances to get hired in the industry.
